THE IDEAL PERRO DE PRESA CANARIO

Rafael O. is European, and he has sent me an e-mail in which he says me..., and he asks me, among other things..., and I reply him what follows: RAFAEL, for me most important in a Perro de Presa Canario is the quality: average size (62-64 centimeter to the withers, 50-55 kilograms), slightly  higher in the rump that in the withers, not  vice versa,  skull and the muzzle wide and of medium length, I do not like the presas of narrow snout, barely nasofrontal depression, well-developed jaws, mouth not undershot or level bite, nor overshot bite, the lips set, I mean very little pendants, dark and big eyes, thick neck, chest wide (without excess), broad ribs (without excess) and deep, evident fore angulaciones, middle back angulaciones, nor scarce nor German shepherd type, strong limbs as a whole and correctly plumb (I do not admit  deviations), tail of medium length (at rest should reach the hock), and free of hip or elbows dysplasia.

Must be of good character, fort temperament, and accused guard instinct. And in dark brindle or Black coat.

This, my friend Rafael, is my Perro de Presa Canario ideal. My breeding aims  to archive this type of presa, and very often I ask myself: What I have to do beside to what  I do, so that my presas approach more and more to this ideal?

It is hard, believe me, to breed the Perro de Presa Canario ideal, in my case, my Perro the Presa Canario ideal…
